Thanks Bogdan!
I'm very happy to report that Bogdan and his posse have packed up and are gone! The framing is done and now we move onto the plumbing (then electrical..and so on).

I hate soccer

Howdy all.
Everybody is watching the bloody soccer game at work...I think I'm alone in saying it is the most boring, dull and Shakespearian sport on earth (though the acting is quite divine).

The framing is done on the inside and the fellas are framing up the front porch
and the 'roof skirt' that wraps around the house between the first and 2nd floors. Bogdan and his boys are doing a really fantastic job...our neighbor Jeff is a city engineer and he's kept a close eye on the work and keeps telling me that Bogdan is doing an amazing job...super clean lines, no crappy wood being used "because" and there hasn't, touch wood, been any walls go up where there shouldn't be a wall. The roof is totally covered up now, shingles arrive next wednesday, so the house will really begin to look like a house. The guys placed a small bouquet of flowers on the highest point of the house, this is Polish for good luck and to signify the roof is completed...kinda cute but who's going to water them?

The plumber was to be there this week but hasn't been, not sure why...I assume Bogdan and his boys are a week behind, which is fine by me so long as the work is done well....quality not quantity....function, not fashion right?

The garage is done and is really huge...I can almost see a fishing boat and a Porsche 911 in there...not quite, but almost.
The windows have been ordered (2 weeks to arrive) as well as all the doors (another 2 weeks) so by the end of July, there'll be windows and doors, plumbing and hopefully, some electrical, in place.
This is the front door....colour to be determined....

and the rear-patio doors...colour TBD as well.

sorry to anyone that might be following this that I haven't updated it in awhile. But I'm happy to say the house is motoring along. Bogdan the framer is pretty much done his work...roof trusses are up, the garage is done (framing) and it is huge!
The entire interior is framed, and we can walk into a room, pretend to tell them kids to stop doing something they shouldn't be doing, then I can walk downstairs to the 'fridge' and grab a beer...how cool?!
The plumber is in now doing his thing, installing the radiant heat, toilets and sinks etc...not sure how long he'll be there but hopefully
no more than a month. The roof will go on in a week or so...then the drywall...but that's getting ahead of ourselves.

Here are some much overdue pictures...

it's raining, it's framing.
Haven't been here in a couple days, but the main floor is framed, walls where walls need to be (though there aren't too many of them on the main floor).

The rain hasn't let up, so it's slowed us down a bit, but progress is progress, right?

The second floor floor joists are all in, and they'll likely skin it tomorrow then start framing the outside walls...cool!
Ma and Pa are out from Ottawa on Thursday, so hoping they can climb up to the second floor and have a look at the view!

what has four walls, a floor and is quite wet?
OUR HOUSE!
Haven't posted in a couple days, but everyday is pretty exciting. Four main floor walls are up, windows framed (or window frames in). The place is going to be substantially larger than I'd imagined. It's soaking from the clouds today (actually, all week) so things will go a little slower this week, but it's looking awesome. We have a cool little 5' crawl-space in the basement (under the living room at the front) that is now Maddie and Cash's little play area...at least Maddie is excited about it. I told her that's where we can put a bunch of her 'really cool' toys and her and Cash can play in there...she was quite excited.
Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure (I often wonder if anybody is actually reading this...but it's kinda therapeutic to type about the goings on).
good night now.
